Engineering - Reports to Engineering Manager

Experienced design professional that has taken projects from concept to completion in complex custom automation machinery and / or robotic work cell manufacturing.
The designer needs the ability to invent and produce unique equipment for automation and robotic work cells. Candidates must be creative self-starters, with the ability to anticipate problems and find solutions.
This requires checking one’s own work and seeing the jobs through the shop working with machinists, assemblers and electrical personnel. Other requirements include an understanding of machine tool technology, material science, hydraulics and pneumatics, elements of machine design such as bearings, chain, belts sprockets and general knowledge of power transmission. Projects must be completed in a timely manner within a team environment.
Applicants should be experienced in the Microsoft Excel, Word and preferably Project.
Experience in SolidWorks is required.
The candidate should have knowledge of the supplier database for selection of components commonly used in machine and fixture design
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Requires education generally equivalent to two years of college, bachelors preferred in Mechanical engineering, Industrial technology or equivalent. Experience will be considered in lieu of education. Three to five years of related design, detailing, checking, releasing and debugging experience. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate having taken large assemblies from concept to completion .
