POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Automation Service Technician responsibilities include mechanical, pneumatic and electrical assembly, start-up, debug and run-off of automation systems. The Automation Service Technician also performs start up support both on and off site as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ability to effectively and professionally deal with customers and co-workers.
Assemble and wire industrial control panels.
Mechanically assemble, install pneumatics and wire various types of automation equipment.
Identify, understand and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
Assist engineering in the startup of new machines.
Works to complete installations, training, maintenance and troubleshooting to customer satisfaction under varying circumstances.
Requires in-depth knowledge of industrial electrical components.
Ability to troubleshoot to component level.
Provide training to customers.
Support existing installations in the field as needed.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in programming PLC/OIT equipment is highly desired. (Allen Bradley, Beckhoff, Siemens, etc.)
Must be able to read and understand mechanical, pneumatic and electrical schematics.
Work with little or no direct supervision.
Prior field service experience is highly desired.
Robotics programming experience is preferred.
Knowledge of Automation Systems in one or all of the following (Welding, Assembly and High-Speed Machinery)
Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
Willingness to attend in-house or external training as required.
Results oriented and innovative.
PC familiarity: (Windows, Microsoft Excel & Word).
Strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and with deadlines.
